FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- It has been three weeks since his euphoric 11-reception game against the Cincinnati Bengals where Roddy White was trumpeted as placing himself firmly on the top shelf with the very best receivers in the NFL. He was even listed as an early favorite for NFL MVP after that 201-yard, two touchdown performance. Now, after a modest four-catch game last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he sat injured in the the second quarter and played the second half with a sore knee, White is looking for his next high. Is he all right? How will he handle the aggressive Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night in the Georgia Dome?
"I'm good, I'll be ready for Thursday," White said with that gleaming smile.
What he is hoping is that Michael Turner is ready for Thursday. The Falcons running back gained 107 yards Sunday against Tampa forcing the Bucs out of their zone defense and into run blitzes.
"They did a lot more man coverage because Mike had popped a couple of runs into the secondary," White said. "If they play us man coverage we have to get open. Somebody has to win. If you have to go out there and someone has to win."
