Jon Miller 'Not Likely' to Stay On With ESPN Radio

When ESPN decided to make a change in their Sunday Night Baseball TV booth earlier this month they did try to come up with a way to keep Jon Miller as part of their team.

It doesn't seem like it is going to work out, however. Miller spoke to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle this weekend about the network's offer to become the play-by-play man on ESPN Radio broadcasts of the Sunday night games. Miller hasn't ruled it out and will talk to ESPN about it, but he told Schulman it's "not likely" that he'll wind up accepting the gig.

Unlike former partner Joe Morgan, though, Miller offered no bitter parting shots at ESPN's decision.

"I never would have expected 21 years when I started," Miller said. "We were in a primetime slot every Sunday for 21 years. That might be unprecedented in our particular business."
