Oregon Takes No. 1 for a Ride With UCLA

At this point, even Oregon coach Chip Kelly has to admit that being the No. 1 team in the country has its benefits.

Because really, how long can he carry on with this whole "Hear No Rankings, See No Rankings, Speak No Rankings" thing?

"Yeah, it's beneficial," Kelly conceded earlier this week. "If you are going to be No. 1 on December 5 when it really matters, it helps if you start really close to the top. If you were No. 31, it would be really difficult to find your way through the minefield. It does matter and there is some significance to it, but not a whole heck of a lot if you don't do anything with it."

The Ducks get their first chance to do something with it Thursday night.
